Pre recorded bodyweight exercise programs are effective because it’s always great to have someone yelling at you to work harder. It keeps you motivated, and you can always pause to take a break whenever you want. There are a few programs out there that have gained attention, and although the concepts are similar, it’s up to you to decide which one works for you. Whichever one you choose, make sure you keep up and do the work:
p90x is probably the most popular of all bodyweight exercise programs, and for good reason. 12 unique DVD workouts that hit on chest and back, plyometrics, shoulders and arms, yoga, legs and back, kenpo, stretching, core, chest and shoulders and triceps, back and biceps, cardio, and of course abs, with the infamous ab ribber x. All you need for p90x is a chair, chin up bar, and resistance bands (or dumbbells). If you’re looking to get ripped and toned, do not pass on this.

Another popular program, insanity features 10 DVDs focusing on both aerobic and anaerobic exercises. Instanity promotes cardio training, and does not require any weights at all. If you’re intro running, endurance training, high intensity cardio, and are looking to get a few pounds, insanity might be the workout for you. Insanity is based on high intensity interval training (HIIT), with demanding bursts of energy and short breaks in between.

TRX Suspension Training
TRX suspension training is a true bodyweight exercise program that really focuses on the core – arguably the most important muscle group in your body. The reason the TRX is so effective is because all of the exercises you do are essentially done in mid air. Suspension training forces you to constantly use your core to maintain balance.
